    Mini Apple and Cinnamon Bites: Gluten, Sugar and Butter Free

    A supplement company has recently released a similar product in supermarkets. I’m normally not a fan of protein bars etc that are made by supplement companies however these tasted half decent and were worth a try. These mini apple and cinnamon are gluten, sugar and butter free made from real apples with added coconut, flaxseeds and dates.

     

    Ingredients:
    2 Granny Smith apples peeled and grated
    1 cup of dates, blended in a dash of hot water
    2 cups of desiccated coconut finely blended
    2 tbs of crushed flaxseeds
    2 tbs of crushed chia seeds
    1 tbs of coconut oil
    1 egg whisked
    Cinnamon and stevia to finish off

    Method:
    Pre-heat oven to 180dg
    whisk one egg into a bowl
    Peel and grate apples
    Finely blend flaxseeds and chia seeds
    Chop dates, add to blender with a dash of hot water and blend into a paste
    Melt coconut oil and add all of the above ingredients into a bowl and mix well
    Line a baking tray with baking paper
    Spoon 1 tbs of mixture at a time and roll into a ball
    Bake for 20 mins or until brown
    Finish with cinnamon and stevia
